The 3 Most Exciting Lifts in the World
If you are interested in lifts, you may want to add some of the world's most exciting ones to your bucket list. Some are spectacular because of their history, their location, or how they are built.
AquaDom in Berlin, Germany
The AquaDom in Berlin is at the top of the list. Tucked inside the Radisson Blu Hotel, the AquaDom is a 25-meter tall lift made of glass. The thing that makes it truly unique is that it is surrounded by a cylindrical aquarium full of fish.
It is the only lift in the world that requires a team of divers to do daily maintenance on it. You will want to ride the lift up and down multiple times to see all that there is to see inside of it.
The Eiffel Tower in Paris, France
The Eiffel Tower is iconic for other reasons, but the lifts that take people to the top of it are an incredible engineering feat. The cars first went into service in 1889 and made technological history. There had never before been anything that could haul that much weight off the ground. Although they are often not the reason people come to see the tower, the lifts are well worth checking out.
Hammetschwand Lift in Bürgenstock, Switzerland
This lift is one of the most exciting lifts in the world because it is the tallest outdoor lift in Europe. It was built in 1905 and carries hikers 118 meters up to the Hammetschwand lookout on the Bürgenstock plateau. When they get to the top, visitors can see the beautiful views of Lake Lucerne and the Alps.
The original lift was built of a wooden zinc plated car and would take almost three minutes to get to the top. It’s since been replaced with a lighter metal car that could travel much faster in 1935.
These are three of the most exciting lifts that you can visit around the world. There are so many more exciting ones that you can find, but you may wish to install a more practical one in your own home. If so,
