Tips for Keeping Your Lift Clean

ADL Lift Services • December 3, 2020

This year, more than ever, it’s important to ensure the lift in your building is clean, hygienic and safe to use. With the coronavirus sweeping over the whole world, cleanliness in public spaces has never been more important. Over the last year, we’ve all had to adapt and adjust to living with the virus and this has meant massively improving hygiene levels across all industries to stop the spread of the virus and keep us safe.

At ADL Lift Services, we know just how important it is to make sure your lift is given the exact same level of hygiene as a surface top or door handle. While many people will choose to avoid lifts where they can, in some cases, using a lift simply can’t be avoided - and this is when you need to focus on hygiene.

To ensure your lift passengers remain safe and your lift has high levels of hygiene, follow our tips below.

Install an air purifier

A lift is a small, enclosed space; in small lifts, passengers are constantly breathing the same air. Installing an air purifier is one way to combat this and ensure the air in the lift is clean. An air purifier constantly cleans the air, removing any harmful particles or bacteria in the area that could spread the virus. An air purifier can be easily installed on the wall or ceiling of the lift and will begin cleaning and purifying the air right away.

Invest in touchless buttons

Touchless lift buttons can completely transform the cleanliness of your lift. A somewhat new and innovative invention, touchless lift buttons use infrared signals in order to send the information throughout the system. They’re motion-enabled with a ten metre capability. Viruses spread through the things we touch, so it’s important to reduce the amount of surfaces we touch as much as possible each day.

Add a UV lamp

UV lamps have a 99% sterilisation efficiency, making them the perfect addition to any lift. They rely on motion sensors and create no ozone damage, making them a fantastic investment if you want to improve hygiene levels in your lift. Plus, they can be easily and quickly installed on the ceiling of the lift and begin working right away.
